On July 18, the first meeting of the Economic Council on ensuring the implementation of the "Road Map" on main directions of structural reforms of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the period 2019-2021 was held.
The Economic Council was established in accordance with the Decree of the President PD-5614 "On Additional Measures to ensure further development of the economy and to enhance the economic policy effectiveness" dated January 8, 2019.
The main task of the Economic Council is to develop strategies, concepts, programs, approaches and other documents on specific areas of the "Roadmap of reforms" in the economic direction with the involvement of the International Expert Group.
Also, the tasks of the Economic Council include: analysis and identification of problems and risks that impede the implementation of socio-economic reforms, on this basis, preparation of proposals on further transformations in the socio-economic sphere, ensuring comprehensive discussion of drafts of regulatory legal acts designed during the implementation of the "Roadmap of reforms" at the departmental level and with the participation of the general public, organizing effective interaction with international financial institutions, the expert community and the media on the implementation of reforms, holding seminars and meetings for this purpose.

On July 19, the Ministry of Finance hosted a meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Minister of Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov with the World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Cyril Muller, who is in Uzbekistan on an official visit on July 18-19 th.
Since 2017, the World Bank has significantly increased financial and technical assistance for the implementation of the structural reform program aimed for ensuring economic growth and improving the well-being of its citizens.

The CEO is responsible for managing the overall affairs of the Company. He will lead in the development and implementation of corporate strategies, translate the strategic directions of the Supervisory Council (the Board) into operational plans and activities, oversee the overall operations of the Company and market its services. The primary role of the CEO is to ensure the overall business results (performance and profitability) of the Company are achieved as planned.
The CEO’s functions and responsibilities are as follows:
a.Develop and execute the Company’s strategic direction and its implementation guidelines.
b.Translate the strategic directions approved by the Board into operational plans and activities in line with the priorities set by the Board.
c.Communicate the Company’s strategic direction, operational plans and activities to Senior Management and all other staff.
d.Take a leadership role in the marketing of the Company’s products to its customers.
e.Oversee all operations of the Company to ensure that they are consistent with the overall strategy and mission set by the Board.
f.Promote risk awareness culture amongst staff and ensure strict compliance with Risk Management Framework.
g.Ensure that the Company’s operations follow all laws and regulations and policies approved by the Board.
h.Represent the Company in its communication with external parties such as its customers, the public, the press, regulators and all other stakeholders.
i.Recruit qualified people and build them to become a team of highly professional and motivated staff.
j.Ensure adherence to an effective system of internal controls.
k.Create an environment that promotes a healthy working relationship with staff, customers and all stakeholders.
l.Provide timely reports to the Board/Committees of the Board on all major activities of the Company, the effectiveness of the internal control systems and recommend changes if any.

On July 10, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the issues of development of the insurance market.
Insurance services are one of the means of protecting economy from all sorts of financial risks. However, the place of such services in domestic financial market is still insignificant.
Over the past six months of 2019, the volume of insurance premiums collected by specialized organizations increased by 1.5 times compared to the same period of 2018. 50 thousand soums of insurance premiums are accounted for per capita per person.

On June 28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Tashkent Mechanical Plant in Yashnabad district.
There are more than 10 enterprises on this territory, more than 2.5 thousand people are employed. However, this does not correspond to this huge complex’s potential, occupying 141 hectares of land. Technopark has been organized on the territory of the plant for effective implementation of its capabilities.
The Head of the state became familiar with presentation of projects to be implemented in the Technopark.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with projects implemented in accordance with the master plan of the city of Nurafshon.
Back in 2017 this city became the administrative center of Tashkent region, and its master plan was developed last year. Large-scale construction works have been launched here. Tashkent Yuli Street underwent expansion. Multi-storey buildings, offices, trade and service centers are being erected in the place of low level structures. By the end of the year, 8 bank branches and 9 administrative buildings are expected to be commissioned.

The Republic of Uzbekistan has received financing from the World Bank for the Regional Road Development project of local importance, and intends to send a portion of these funds for the payment of goods, works and consulting services to be procured under the project.
Position Title: Bridge Engineer
• University degree in Construction or road engineering; in economics and project management;
• Work experience (5 years and more) in this specialization, including experience in the investment projects financed by international financial institutions.
Personal qualities: ability to clearly explain the idea of the plan and drawings, to analyze information and evaluate solutions, confident decision-making, excellent organizational, communication and management skills, the ability to manage and lead the team, logical thinking and ability to cooperate with others, the ability to work with medium budget and timing, good team work, a thorough knowledge of the local legislation.
1. Knowledge of Uzbek, Russian and English;
2. Higher education in the construction and road engineering;
3. Work experience (3 years and more) in international organizations, mainly in projects of the reconstruction / rehabilitation of roads and artificial structures, knowledge of FIDIC standards and local legislation on the regulation of road construction;
4. The certificates / licenses for supervising the road construction and engineering structures, as well as the possession of special knowledge on the application of standards AASHTO, BS;
5. Good computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office applications;
6. Good knowledge of written and spoken English is an advantage.
